Record Your Activity: Personally identifiable information: At registration,
we may ask children to provide their date of birth in order to customize their
account and enhance their user experience. We collect the above information "directly." In
other words, we only receive information that has been actively entered when
prompted.
Non-personally identifiable information:
In order to activate the account, we ask children to create a username. We
only ask for email addresses of users that wish to participate in contests,
emails and/or e-newsletter receipts. Passwords for usernames are for the creation
and management of their characters and recording and tracking their activities.
For children age 12 or under, we ask them
to provide a parent's/guardian's email address for authorization to participate. We will send a separate email
to the parent/guardian to confirm their consent to the child's participation
in contests and e-newsletter receipt. We invite children to share information
about their daily physical activity and eating habits in the Get IN2IT section.
Information submitted to Get IN2IT is used for the following purposes only:
awarding prizes (if applicable) for physical activity, nutritional excellence
and entry into contests (if applicable). Children are not required to provide
more personal information than is reasonably necessary to participate in these
activities.
Children are not required to participate in polls, surveys, or contests in
order to use the site or access their Get IN2IT account. We collect the above
information "directly". In other words, we only receive information
that has been actively entered when prompted.
Electronic Newsletters and Emails: GoodLife Kids Foundation offers registered
visitors the opportunity to sign up to receive the GoodLife Kids Foundation
newsletter, emails and/or web site update information. When a user asks to receive
our email newsletter, emails and/or updates, the user is asked to provide his
or her date of birth (to confirm age eligibility of over 12 to receive messages),
their email address or the email address of his or her parent or legal guardian
(if 12 or under).
If 12 or under, the visitor's parent or legal guardian will receive a notification
email informing him or her of the child's request to receive by email the GoodLife
Kids Foundation newsletter and/or web site updates on an ongoing basis and
give the parent/legal guardian the option to have his or her child's information
be removed from our database. At any time after receiving this notification
email, the child's parent/legal guardian has the opportunity to exercise the
option to request that we stop sending the child the newsletter and/or updates
and to request that the child's information be removed from our newsletter/updates
by following the "unsubscribe" instructions found in either their
initial notification email or at the end of any of the newsletter and update
emails. In addition, parents/legal guardians may at any time review any identifiable
information collected about their child.
All information collected for the GoodLife Kids Foundation newsletter and/or
GoodLife Kids Foundation web site updates is used only to send the child the
electronic newsletter and/or updates and may be transferred, disclosed, or shared
with third parties who may be engaged by us specifically to handle the preparation
and delivery of the electronic newsletter and updates and perform other related
technical and processing functions. These third parties may not use the information
collected for other purposes and have agreed to maintain the confidentiality
of such information.
