Yuck! Sometimes I learn something really gross about our bodies.
I put it here, because nobody wants it anywhere else! Go ahead and check it out...if
you like that kind of thing!
VOMIT
What is vomit?

It’s the partially digested food in your stomach, and probably the grossest substance
on the face of the earth. That’s because the food is mixed with highly acidic stomach
fluids (such as bile) which smells and tastes awful. Depending how long ago you
ate, the food might be reduced to a gooey paste, which makes it look as gross as
it smells. When you vomit, your cardia
relaxes and the muscles in your stomach squeeze hard to push everything out.
Why do I vomit sometimes?
There are a lot of possible reasons, but it’s usually because you’re sick, or you’ve
eaten something that’s bad for you. Vomiting is your body’s way of trying to get
rid of poisons. If you eat something poisonous, and it starts to make you sick,
vomiting will get rid of the poisonous stuff before any more of it can be absorbed
into your blood. So that’s a good thing, disgusting as it is. Also, if you get certain
kinds of viruses, they can make you sick and trigger the vomiting reaction, even
if you haven’t eaten anything bad. That’s what we usually call the “flu.”
Is vomit dangerous or bad for you?
If a sick person vomits, that vomit may have contagious viruses or bacteria in it
that can make you sick, too. Best not to touch it, as if you need to be told!
