Alone we will not have a significant impact on creating a healthier happier generation of kids; together we can change the future of our children. I believe this. I believe that small groups of committed people working in the same direction can make the world better. I believe that the actions that you and I take to make the quality of children’s lives better, when joined together; will have significant impact.
Thru GoodLife Kids Foundation you will begin to see the theme of connection. Connecting to other organizations to help fund programmes that get kids moving, connecting to our corporate partners to spread the message of health and fitness, connecting to parents and families to support them with practical ideas that make a difference in bringing the focus of fitness and fun to your family, your neighbourhood or your school.
My aim as GoodLife Kids Champion is simple; to help kids lead healthier, more playful, more joyful lives. To do this we need to inspire families that movement and play is as essential to children as eating and sleeping. We need to find opportunities to help organizations that are doing great work be even better. We will work closely with GoodLife Fitness to bring its passion and power for fitness and movement into GoodLife Kids Foundation.
We are sowing the seeds of success in this fight against childhood obesity and inactivity right now. In the past month over $ 30,000 dollars has been donated to grassroots organizations operating programmes and active after school initiatives – engaging kids to be physically active. This year alone, over $200,000 has been raised through the GoodLife Fitness Clubs, money that will be distributed amongst children’s programmes in communities across Canada.
There is so much more to be done. We are developing key partnerships to compound our reach; we are reaching out to sponsors and donors to help us do more. We want to support you to reach your objectives for getting kids moving in your family, neighbourhood and community. We aim to be part of a movement and, as such, we need your ideas, your success stories and your challenges. Tell us what you are doing that is working, and suggest to us, how we can help on a broader scale. I look forward to working with you in helping Canada be filled with the sounds of kids playing, with the kids that are alert and active and connected to their bodies. I look forward to working with you to help get our kids moving.

I came upon this website when talking about a paper I’m writing a paper on helping our children to grow up to have virtues, be ethical and moral adults. Eventually I hope to write a program on helping children use cognitive behavioral thinking to help their negative thoughts.
