Greg’s Story

Spin4Kids in StittsVegas

GoodLife Stittsville Corners rallied together to raise nearly $12,000 through Spin4Kids 2019. Led by General Manager Greg Yandt, the team worked for months leading up to the big event in November. They organized mini fundraisers throughout the fall, including one Greg was most excited about: a StittsVegas clothing sale.

“We made shirts celebrating our Stittsville community. People really rally together here,” he said. “100% of the proceeds supported our Spin4Kids fundraising, so it was a great opportunity for us to raise money and spread the word.”

SittsVegas shirts flew off the shelves – and Greg found that even non-GoodLife Members were coming in to buy them.

Greg has been the General Manager at GoodLife Stittsville Corners for four years, but has been with the company for a total of nine. He started as a Fitness Advisor, and has climbed the ranks to his current role.

One thing that’s remained stable over the years is his passion for promoting healthy living to as many people as possible. It only makes sense that this also translate to a passion for GoodLife Kids Foundation, and helping kids with special needs get active.

“A lot of people don’t know there are extra costs for these kids,” Greg said. “They might need special equipment, modified spaces, or more supervision. The costs can really add up.”

Spin4Kids just wrapped up, leaving Greg and his team with good memories and budding ideas on how to build on the event for next year.

“It’s just a blast. The energy is great. Everyone has a good time,” he said. “And it’s a good opportunity to spread awareness about the cause. People might not know about the barriers kids with special needs face. We want to do what we can to help.”

GoodLife Kids Foundation ambassadors like Greg are incredibly important to the success of events like Spin4Kids and made major contributions to the $920,000 raised through Spin4Kids in 2019.
