Since day one, I’ve seen the care and passion our Board of Directors and GoodLife Fitness Associates and Members have for supporting the community through GoodLife Kids Foundation. The passion continues with our amazing staff team, who are there for each other, and work every day to provide an exceptional and accessible physical activity and fitness experience for youth with autism and intellectual disabilities. It’s an honour to have been guiding the journey to support active healthy lives for kids and youth since 2004.

Favourite way to get active and MOVE: My happy place is to dance just about anywhere, anytime. You can never have too many disco lights!

What inspires me? I’m inspired by the idea of moving for longevity. Knowing that if I keep moving, I can lift more, walk further, keep dancing, and just play and be silly for years to come. Moving is definitely a super power.

I am a purpose driven leader who is passionate about advocating for the importance of getting kids and youth active and moving daily. I joined the GLKF team in January 2022 as the Program Director for the MOVE Program. I pursued an academic career in Kinesiology and received an undergraduate degree from Acadia University and a master’s degree from the University of Toronto. With 10+ years of experience in the sport and recreation field it has allowed me to share my passion to create a positive impact in communities through the power of movement.

Who inspires you? Jay Shetty and Brene Brown inspire me! Every time I hear either of them on a podcast or read a book they have released I’m filled with so much love and inspiration. I had the opportunity to see Jay Shetty live when he was in Toronto on his book tour and it truly was magical.

Favourite ways to get active and MOVE? Going to the gym to lift heavy, paddleboarding, or playing beach volleyball.

Hi! I am Daniella Gomer and I am extremely passionate about creating inclusive fitness all across Canada. I started my career with GoodLife Fitness in 2018; helping hundreds of individuals achieve their health and fitness goals and very quickly fell in love with the community that fitness creates. In my previous roles as a Level 4 Trainer and Fitness Manager, I saw firsthand how different people's physical and mental needs are when it comes to exercise and that the best results come from adapting training to the individual.

What you love about working for GoodLife Kids Foundation?
Seeing the MOVE by GoodLife Kids Program excel in meeting participants where they are and creating an inclusive fitness community that makes me smile every time I participate in a class. For myself, the GoodLife Kids Foundation is the perfect combination of fitness and community that comes together in making a difference in the lives of youth all across Canada.

I have been involved in the sports, fitness and education fields my whole life, from playing rugby provincially and nationally, getting my undergraduate degree in Kinesiology, working as a Strength & Conditioning coach and teaching youth about anatomy and the importance of movement. 

I'm an avid believer in fitness for youth and have created numerous programs to promote physical activity and life lessons learned through fitness. 

I believe an active life is a better life - physical activity is a cornerstone of a healthy lifestyle for all and the MOVE Program can play an influential role in keeping youth engaged in physical exercise and play. 

What do you love about working at GoodLife Kids Foundation (GLKF)?

Fitness and movement should be a right not a privilege! I feel honoured to work with amazing people delivering life-changing opportunities. As a MOVE Coach I get the opportunity to work hands on with the most amazing youth and as an Associate Experience Supervisor I get the opportunity to support Associates in delivering exceptional programs.

Favourite ways to get active and MOVE?

Oh, so many ways! I love a good CrossFit workout, dancing (if there is music, I will be moving), playing and being active with my kids.

As an experienced fundraising and event management professional, I am deeply motivated in dedicating my career in helping others. I have been working in the non-for-profit section for the past 11 years. I started out in my career working locally in my home town of St.Thomas at Ignite Youth Centre (formally known as the Talbot Teen Centre), then expanding my knowledge with the Canadian Blood Services before beginning my role at the GoodLife Kids Foundation in 2019.

Who inspires you? There is no better inspiration than seeing the passion, dedication and drive that GoodLife Associates bring when supporting the MOVE by GoodLife Kids Program.

Favourite way to get active and MOVE: In my spare time, I enjoy being on the water catching bass or just soaking up the sun, spending time with my family, friends and two French Bulldog's, Phoebe and Ralph.

Favourite song to MOVE to? Mostly to 90's music and you can catch me belting out my best rendition of Mariah Carey in my car!

I joined the GoodLife family in 2006 as the Home Office Receptionist. Since then, I have had many different roles including Executive Assistant to David 'Patch' Patchell-Evans, the founder and CEO of GoodLife Fitness, and Community Relations Coordinator. I joined GoodLife Kids Foundation in 2012 as a Development Coordinator and now I support the team and Board of Directors, and manage engagement platforms as the Operations Specialist.

Favourite ways to get acitve and MOVE? Yoga and exploring nature trails.

Favourite song to MOVE to? Anything from the 90's and 2000's will get me moving!

I am excited to be a new team member at GoodLife Kids Foundation (GLKF)! I am here to help spread the word about the foundation and the opportunities we provide. As a marketing major, I’ve spent some time studying marketing and psychology in university as well as taking specific marketing and psychology courses on the side. I have always wanted to make a difference in the world and I’m proud to be a part of the change GLKF is creating.

What do you love about working at GLKF?

I love the passion I feel from the team about the cause we are supporting. It makes a big difference to feel that drive and hope from those you work with!

Favourite ways to get active and MOVE?

I love to dance! Just for fun – I’m not a dancer.
